The VersaHaul is made of sturdy, 14 gauge steel. Our anti-tilt lock bracket is included with every carrier and is designed to stabilize the carrier and eliminate movement. The VH-55DMRO carrier is designed to safely carry 600 lbs but is limited to 500 lbs per carrier rail (see weight capacity guidelines based on your vehicle, hauling capacity may be limited by your vehicle type). Helix, Reflex, Gold Wing, and Burgman scooters cannot be carried by a VH-55 due to their length (not weight). A VH-SPORT carrier is needed instead. Hitch - Class III or IV (most Class III are rated for 500 lbs and most Class IV are rated for 1000 lbs). The VH55 has a Class III hitch on the end of the carrier designed for light-duty applications. The maximum towing weight, regardless of your vehicle is 3000 lbs.
